1. Who we are
This privacy policy explains how Fouroc and the companies in the Fouroc group, including Fouroc Softwares (together, “Fouroc”, “we”, “us” or “our”), collect, use, share and protect personal information.
The Fouroc group company that publishes an app or runs a service is responsible for the personal information processed through it. For apps on Google Play and the App Store, that company is shown as the developer or seller on the store listing. For our websites at fouroc.com and fouroc.in, the responsible party is Fouroc.
You can reach us, including our Grievance Officer and privacy team, at any time through our contact form.
2. What this policy covers
This policy applies to:
- vuin, on the web at vuin.in and in its mobile apps, and any other app published by a Fouroc company (“apps”);
- our websites, including fouroc.com and fouroc.in (“websites”); and
- any support, communication or other service that links to this policy (together with the apps and websites, the “services”).
Some apps may show additional, app-specific privacy information inside the app or on their store listing (for example, Google Play’s Data safety section or the App Store’s App Privacy details). That information forms part of this policy for the app concerned. If the two ever differ, the more protective description applies.
3. Information we collect
We collect only what a service needs to work, to keep it secure, and to improve it. What we collect depends on the service and the features you use.
Information you give us
- Account and verification details, such as your name, work email address, and any portfolio or code links you provide so we can confirm you work in tech. Passwords, if used, are stored only as a secure hash.
- Profile information you choose to add, such as a photo, role, company, city, skills and what you have shipped.
- Content and activity, such as posts, replies, the circles you join, your connections, invites you send or receive, and direct messages.
- Invite requests, such as the email address and area of work you submit to request access.
- Messages to us, such as the details you enter in a contact, support or deletion form.
- Purchase information. Payments for in-app purchases and subscriptions are processed by Google Play or Apple. We do not receive or store your full card details. We receive a transaction record, such as the product bought, the date, and whether a subscription is active.
Information collected automatically
- Device and app information, such as device model, operating system version, app version, language, time zone and a randomly generated app installation identifier.
- Usage information, such as the features you use, screens viewed and actions taken, collected in aggregated or pseudonymous form to understand how the app is used.
- Diagnostics, such as crash reports and performance data, used to find and fix problems.
- Website logs, such as IP address, browser type, pages visited and referring page, kept by our hosting provider for security and reliability.
Information from device permissions
Some features need access to parts of your device, such as the camera, photos, microphone, contacts, notifications or location. We ask for each permission only when you first use the feature that needs it, and we explain why. You can refuse or withdraw a permission at any time in your device settings. The rest of the app will keep working, except the feature that depends on it.
We do not access precise location in the background, read your contacts, or access SMS or call logs unless an app’s core feature requires it, it is clearly disclosed in the app and store listing, and you have given permission.
Information from others
If you sign in with a third-party service, such as Sign in with Apple or Google Sign-In, we receive the information that service shares with your permission, typically your name and email address. With Sign in with Apple you can choose to hide your email address.
4. How we use information
We use personal information to:
- provide, operate and maintain the services, including creating and managing your account;
- process purchases and confirm subscription status with Google Play or Apple;
- respond to your messages and provide support;
- send service messages, such as security alerts, account notices and changes to our terms;
- review invite requests and verify that members are real people who work in tech;
- show your profile and posts to other members, according to your settings;
- send a weekly digest and other notifications you can switch off at any time;
- understand usage, fix bugs and improve performance and features;
- protect the security and integrity of the services and prevent fraud and abuse; and
- comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
We do not use personal information for purposes that are unrelated to the reasons it was collected without telling you and, where required, asking for your consent.
5. Legal bases for processing
Where laws such as the EU or UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) apply, we rely on these legal bases:
- Contract: to provide the service you asked for.
- Consent: for optional features, device permissions, marketing messages and certain analytics. You can withdraw consent at any time.
- Legitimate interests: to keep the services secure, prevent abuse and improve our products, where those interests are not overridden by your rights.
- Legal obligation: where the law requires us to process or keep information.
Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, we process personal data on the basis of your consent or for legitimate uses permitted by that law.
6. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We share it only as follows:
- Service providers who act on our instructions, such as cloud hosting, databases, analytics, crash reporting, email delivery and form processing. They may use the information only to provide their service to us and must protect it.
- App stores. Google and Apple process purchase information under their own privacy policies.
- Within the Fouroc group, where needed to provide or support a service, under this policy.
- Legal reasons, when we believe in good faith that disclosure is required by law, a court order or a lawful government request, or is necessary to protect the rights, property or safety of our users, the public or Fouroc.
- Business changes. If a service or company is reorganised, merged or transferred, information may be transferred as part of that change, and it will remain protected by this policy or one at least as protective.
- With other members, as part of how the app works. In vuin, your profile, posts and replies are visible to other verified members, and messages are visible to the people you send them to.
- With your consent, or at your direction.
7. Third-party services and SDKs
Our apps may include software development kits (SDKs) from third parties for functions such as analytics, crash reporting, authentication, notifications and payments. We select providers that meet the requirements of Google Play and the App Store, configure them to collect the minimum data needed, and list the types of data they collect in each app’s store disclosures.
Our websites use the following third-party services:
| Service | Purpose | Data involved |
|---|---|---|
| Web3Forms | Delivers messages from our website forms | Details you enter in the form, page address |
| Google Fonts | Displays our typefaces | IP address and browser information, sent when fonts load |
| Hosting provider | Serves the website securely | Standard server logs |
These providers process data under their own privacy policies. Links to other websites are not covered by this policy.
8. Advertising and tracking
vuin does not show third-party ads and does not track you across other companies’ apps or websites. If any app we publish ever does, we will say so clearly in the app and its store listing, and:
- on iOS, we ask for your permission through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt before tracking, and we respect your choice;
- on Android, you can reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of personalised ads, in your device settings; and
- we never use the advertising ID together with persistent device identifiers or personal information without your explicit consent.
We do not show personalised advertising to children.
9. How long we keep information
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy:
- Account data: while your account is active. After you delete your account, it is removed from live systems within 30 days and from backups within 90 days.
- Support and contact messages: up to 24 months after the conversation ends, so we can follow up and improve our help.
- Invite requests that are not accepted: up to 12 months, so we don’t review the same request twice.
- Transaction records: for the period required by tax, accounting and other laws, typically up to 8 years.
- Diagnostics and logs: up to 90 days, unless needed longer to investigate a security issue.
Information that has been anonymised so it can no longer identify you may be kept for statistics.
10. Deleting your account and data
You can delete your account and associated data at any time:
- In the app: open Settings, then Account, then Delete account.
- On the web: use our account deletion page. You do not need to reinstall the app.
Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription bought through Google Play or the App Store. Please cancel it in your store account settings. Full details of what we delete and what we keep are on the account deletion page.
11. Security
We protect personal information with measures appropriate to its sensitivity, including encryption in transit (TLS), encryption at rest where supported, access controls based on least privilege, secure password hashing, and regular review of our systems and providers.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. If a personal data breach affects you, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by law.
12. Children’s privacy
vuin is for professionals and is not intended for anyone under 18. Our services are not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. In India, we do not knowingly process the personal data of anyone under 18 without verifiable consent from a parent or lawful guardian, and we do not track, monitor behaviour or target advertising at children.
If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us through our contact form and we will delete it.
13. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- access the personal information we hold about you and receive a copy;
- correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
- delete your information;
- object to or restrict certain processing;
- receive your information in a portable format;
- withdraw consent at any time, without affecting earlier processing;
- nominate another person to exercise your rights if you die or become unable to (India);
- opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information (California). We do not sell or share personal information in this sense; and
- complain to a data protection authority, such as the Data Protection Board of India, your local EU supervisory authority, or the UK Information Commissioner’s Office.
To exercise a right, use our contact form and choose “Privacy or data request”. We may ask you to verify your identity. We respond within 30 days, or sooner if the law requires. We will not treat you differently for exercising your rights.
14. International transfers
Fouroc is based in India, and our service providers may process information in India and other countries. When personal information is transferred across borders, we use safeguards required by applicable law, such as standard contractual clauses, and we transfer data only to countries permitted under Indian law.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our services or the law change. We will post the new version on this page with a new “Last updated” date. If a change is significant, we will also notify you in the app or by email before it takes effect, and ask for your consent where required.
16. Contact and grievance officer
For questions, requests or complaints about privacy, contact our privacy team and Grievance Officer through our contact form. Choose “Privacy or data request”, or “Legal or grievance” for a formal complaint.
In line with the Information Technology Act, 2000, the rules made under it, and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, we acknowledge grievances within 24 hours and resolve them within 15 days, or within any shorter period required by law.
